Escape to your own private off-grid retreat on the peaceful shores of Grass Lake. With more than 1,200 feet of beautiful water frontage and 6 of land, this property offers endless opportunities to relax, explore, and truly disconnect. Grass Lake is known for its charm, great fishing, and incredible wildlife, making it the perfect setting for kayaking, boating, or simply taking in the quiet beauty from your own dock. The main cabin sits just steps from the shoreline and feels like a cozy studio apartment. It’s fully insulated and designed for comfort, with an open layout that combines living, dining, and sleeping space, all framed by stunning lake views. The second cabin, also fully insulated, provides additional sleeping quarters for guests or family. From both cabins, you can watch the sunset over the lake or listen to loons calling in the evening A true North Country experience. Life here is simple but comfortable. The property features a compostable toilet, an outdoor shower, and an on-demand hot water system that turns on automatically when in use. Water is drawn directly from the lake into a holding tank using a 12-volt RV-style pump powered by its own solar panel and battery. Switches inside and outside the cabin control the flow to the kitchen sink and shower, allowing for easy use and efficient water management. Propane is used for both cooking and heating, keeping the cabin warm and functional even in cooler seasons. Both cabins are powered by a dedicated solar energy system with six panels mounted on the roof and an eight-battery power bank, ensuring reliable electricity without the need to be connected to the grid. Each cabin has surge-protected power strips for convenience, and when extra power is needed, a Predator® 5000-watt dual-fuel inverter generator provides backup capability with the option to run on either gasoline or propane. For those dreaming bigger, the groundwork is already laid for expansion. Piers are in place for a future main cottage, and a 1,000-gallon septic tank has already been installed. There’s also a storage shed for tools and gear, and a short set of stairs leads down to the dock, where the water opens up in front of you!
