Spicer Creek Townhomes is a 54-home townhouse community off Whitehaven Road in the middle of Grand Island, set on about 185 acres of wooded, landscaped grounds with two entrances from Whitehaven. Homes run roughly 1,300 to 1,400-plus square feet. Every owner belongs to the Spicer Creek Association, which owns the common grounds and is run by an elected volunteer board. It is one of the few places on the island to buy without taking on a yard, a few minutes from Grand Island Boulevard shopping, the town hall, the schools and the South Bridge onto the I-190. Spicer Creek runs east from here to the river, where the state’s 34-acre Spicer Creek Wildlife Management Area on East River Road keeps 1,600 feet of shoreline as wetland and woods.
